Kathryn grew up on a farm located on Whidbey Island in Washington State. A graduate of Calpoly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Marketing Management, she later returned to her passion for horses and dogs and obtained several awards for her expertise. Having grown up around horses, it wasn't suprising when she and husband, Dan, started their first riding stables in Renton, Wa in 1991; eventually moving in 1999 to the 14 acres now located in Brush Prairie.
Cori has been involved with horses since ahe was a kid. Her journey started on a mean and old Shetland pony and then trained her way through bigger horses, moving up the ranks of open shows and 4H, then Quarter Horse shows. As a teenager she worked full time, maintained her grades, and would turn over project horses to help with show fees. Cori and her mom travelled all over the PNW, and California, even a couple of stops at the Ohio Quarter horse Congress, and the Youth World show in Texas. The time and miles put on the road were worth it alone, but she also received many awards, including top ten at the world show, semifinals at the world show and Congress, multiple Superiors as well as Year end Awards, and throw a horse trailer win in there, too! Cori also helped coach her sister and train her barrel horses, In the last twenty plus years she has had the opportunity to work with some great trainers, horses, and people.
Today she still loves everything "horse," but has shifted her focus to reining/working cow horses, and have two broodmares at home. I still love the performance classes, especially teaching showmanship, trail, equitation, and reining. I have always enjoyed working with students to reach their goals and effectively communicate with their horse better. Wether it's beginner classes, trail riding, working on a lead change or getting ready for the show pen.
