Camps are 9 am-2 pm Monday through Thursday. Cost: $425
Camps are for kids age 5-12
20 camper limit – 3 instructors
Summertime is the best at Short Acres. We bring in our favorite farm animals to enjoy during our camp season. Baby goats, rabbits, miniature horses, calves, and donkeys are just some of the wonderful animals campers get to bond with.
Integrating horse education with hands-on experiences leaves campers with life-changing memories.
A typical day of camp begins with saying good morning to all the animals. Campers then gather together to share stories and discuss plans for the day. Hearing kids dream out loud of all the things they hope to experience at the farm is the best. It truly sets the tone for the day. We then take time to make sure all animals are fed, watered, and cared for. Campers love the responsibility of caring for all of the animals.
Horse education is an all-day experience. Groundwork, grooming, tacking up and riding are all done with teamwork. Campers get the opportunity to really bond with their horse or pony over the four-day experience. They ride English, Western, Bareback, and sometimes double with a new friend.
Campers get to use their creative juices during Arts and Crafts. They decorate real horseshoes and make them into picture frames, design their own unicorn, and best of all they decorate the miniature horses.
